Why should I use this JPEG XL compressor?

JPEG XL is the next-generation image format that is poised to replace the currently existing formats such as JPEG (about 60% smaller with the same quality) , PNG, GIF, WebP and AVIF.

It supports transparency (alpha channel) and animation, as well as lossy and lossless modes, progressive decoding, wide gamut, HDR and much more, while being independent of any licenses.

At the moment it is implemented in all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari and Opera), although there are not yet many tools that can output this file format. Here you can test this image format of the future.
